Who Am I?
I’m Jessie and I am a photographer specialising in equine and dog photography. I currently have five dogs, four horses, thirteen sheep and a cat. Having spent most of my teenage years competing, my house is littered with the same image of my horse trotting, cantering or the winning stood-still shot.
As much as I love these photos and they bring back fantastic memories for me, they are all very similar and when I first picked up a camera as a hobbyist, I found myself capturing those ‘in-between’ moments where the true bond between horse and rider can be witnessed.
My whole life has been spent outdoors with my animals and I understand the emotional connection between yourself and your animal and my absolute passion is capturing that bond through my camera! If like me, you’re absolutely in love with your animal and want to find a photographer to capture that, then I may be the photographer for you!
So how did I get here?
Well I was that ‘weird horse-obsessed girl’ at school and I guess I just never grew out of that stage! I went to university studying Business Studies and HR and after four years I left university intending to pursue a career in HR. After a month in a temporary role, I soon realised it wasn’t for me and decided to turn my passion into my profession. So here I am pursuing my dream of being an equine and dog photographer and I am very grateful for all the people and four-legged friends who make my dream a possibility.
What’s my inspiration?
I saw a quote recently which said “The only time animals will break your heart is when they leave this world”. Animals are only in our lives for a very short time and when they are gone all we have left are our memories and photographs. My first pony, Stanley, was my best friend growing up and my one regret is that I did not have any professional photos taken with him whilst he was alive. Since then I have been sure to capture pictures of my beloved animals at any opportunity I get.
