Equine Photoshoot FAQs
What happens when I book my shoot?
Once you have decided to have a photoshoot, I shall send you a welcome guide. We can then arrange a suitable date. If you want any advice on locations, styling etc then I am more than willing to have a chat with you prior to your shoot. A few days before your shoot, I will confirm timings and see if you have any questions.
How long will my photoshoot last?
You will have a two-hour time slot. When I arrive, I will spend some time getting to know you and your beloved equine and understand what you want to get out of the shoot. Then we will scout out the locations and get to work!
What should I wear?
This is entirely up to you! Within the two-hour shoot, you can change your outfit up to three times. You may want to wear casual outfits, dresses, occasion dresses etc. Take a look at my Pinterest Board if you need some inspiration.
Can I have a photoshoot with more than one animal?
Yes, the more the merrier! You are welcome to include your family, dogs and as many horses in the shoot. You can split your two-hour time slot how you wish.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the shoot?
I will keep a close eye on the weather in the days leading up to your photoshoot. On the morning of the shoot, if it is raining I will contact you in the morning and confirm whether you want to go ahead. I will recommend rescheduling if the weather is bad.
Where can I have my photoshoot?
Wherever you would like! Most people will have pictures at their yard, but if you feel the location isn’t suitable we can travel to a local beach, forest etc. If you are unsure before your shoot, if you get in contact we can scout out potential locations. Also take a look at my Pinterest for location inspiration.
Can I have a black background image as well?
Yes absolutely, these images need to be taken in the entrance of a stable or a barn area.
How shall I prepare my horse?
They should be prepared as if they are going to a show! Perhaps a bath and a groom over! They don’t need to be plaited up unless that’s what you want in the images! I recommend using their bridle or a leather headcollar for your photoshoot and giving their tack a quick clean over.
What if my horse misbehaves?
Don’t worry, having had horses most of my life I know that where horses are involved, things don’t always go to plan. We will try our best to work around this and I have a box of tricks I bring with me to encourage your horse to smile for the camera!
When can I view my images?
Depending on workload, the images will be available within 10 days but usually before! I can travel to you to show you your gallery, if this is not viable you can view your images in your own private online viewing gallery.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have public liability insurance.
Do you travel anywhere?
Yes I do! Travel within 30 miles of Glossop is included in the price of the photoshoot. If outside of my area, get in touch to let me know where and mileage may be charged at 30p a mile dependant on distance.
