When I first launched my business officially in 2019 I ran a competition to win a photoshoot with me. The lucky recipient of the competition was Philippa and her family. We finally got a date scheduled in for Summer of 2020 and we may have unintentionally picked one of the hottest days of the year! So on a hot day in June I set off for an equine and dog photoshoot in Lancashire. There was a few different animals involved in the shoot which meant we could swap between them. So at least no horse or dog was stood outside in the heat for too long.
There was a brilliant spot under a tree which provided us some shade and also worked as a great spot for photos. Especially as it included this rope swing. First up was Grace and her horses/ponies before we got some images of her brother William in the same spot.
Now I love fields with long grass, I love getting down low and photographing through the grass. Howeverrrr I do also realise it can be like Christmas come early for some ponies and the temptation may prove too much! A few munches of grass later, we did still capture some fab images!
Next up they both decided they wanted to jump on their ponies bareback, all the ponies were very chilled and proved to be fab models.
Next up Philippa wanted a few images herself with her own horse Thora. Phillippa runs Union Equine Therapy – Theraplate if anyone is looking for someone to come and treat their horses. She offers mobile Theraplate treatments for sports conditioning, therapy and rehabilitation through out Lancashire.
Next up we spent around 10-15 minutes capturing black background portraits. All my photoshoots include black background images should you wish.
Last but not least, there is always time to include everyone! We then got a few images with their two dogs and even the cat got involved too. The more the merrier I always say, I enjoy photographing all animals.
As always here is a few out-takes. A photobombing dog and two ponies that got tempted by the long grass!
